I bought this pattern at the Road to California last weekend. I whipped it up this morning using scraps from past quilts. I still have to satin stitch around everything and then quilt it. I think the satin stitching will take the longest.

The great thing about table runners is the instant gratification. I made thing one a couple of weeks ago using scraps that I had. I found the pattern on qnntv.com.

Seeing Stars

I took a class last year called "Texas Star". I wanted to learn how to do the dreaded "Y" seams and what better way than to make a zillion of them. Well, I almost decided to chuck it all in a box and call it a UFO. The OCD inside of me decided I better just get it done. I have been working on it faithfully for an hour or two every weekend and today I got the top put together. I still have to square it up and add borders to it, which I will do next Sunday at quilt class. I have no idea how I am going to quilt it other than stitching in the ditch. I may have to take out my embroidery machine and do something with the hexagon shapes.

I guess I will start my first post of the year by posting pictures of the last of my 2007 finished quilt projects. Karene and Joy were sick of ruling table runners.
This is a fall wall hanging that I made before Thanksgiving. It was the first time I used my walking foot w/ guide to quilt.

This was a table runner pattern that I got from www.connectingthreads.com. I really loved it when I saw it online but after I made it I lost the love. It is now covering a desk in my mothers bedroom. I did use it as a learning experience though. I got to practice my satin stitch and I also got to practice machine embroidery. Boy, I need much more practice. LOL

This is a quilt I made for my friend, Maria. It is a kit from moda from the Chocolat line of fabrics. I love the colors and I may get more fabrics to make myself a quilt using them.

This is a baby quilt I made for my friends daughter. She is having a baby girl in February. The quilt is called "Little Blessings".

This is a baby quilt I made for my boss. This is the second quilt I made for this baby that won't be born till April. The first one was the airplane quilt. I hated the way it came out so I had to make another one. This one will pass! Geez, I hope she has a boy.

Table Runners Rule!!!

Table runners are so much fun to make. I really like to make things that can be done in a few hours. The ornament runner was do much fun that I am on my 6th one. I already mailed one to my cousin and the others are almost ready to go to their new homes. The red one was made from a bunch of 2 inch squares. I meanered the top using gold thread with silver thread in the bobbin. SEW MUCH FUN!!!!!

Where Did October Go?

I can't believe the month is almost over and I don't know where it went. I need to refocus my goals because I have been tired and lazy lately. I am off the next 3 days from work and I plan on getting a plan together that I need to stick to.

I want to get started on doing a block a week on my Dear Jane quilt. I have rejected the 2 blocks I made a few weeks ago. I will start out by doing some easier ones before I tackle anything with applique or Y-seams.

This is a picture of my virtual design wall. I have one triangle done. LOL!!!! I hope to post a new pic at least once a month with the progress of my quilt.

Baby Quilt Top Finished!

I managed to squeeze in a few hours yesterday and this afternoon to finish piecing the baby quilt I started a few weeks back. Tomorrow I will buy some batting and hopefully get it pinned at class. I hope I can get ideas on how to quilt it.
