Two Flimsies

I was able to get two flimsies made this weekend.

The first one is the 2012 Designer Mystery.
The second was my Bonnie Hunter Cheddar Bow Ties.

I am so glad to have these made.  I will piece the backings and make the binding next week and put them away until I am able to either have them quilted or do them myself.

I dug out my traditional Dear Jane yesterday and started going thru the blocks.  I really don't like the background fabric I used.  I really hate some of the blocks I made.  I just don't like it and decided to scrap it.   I am going to dig out my Rainbow Jane instead, which I actually love and finish that one.  Here is a link to what I have done so far.

Well, that's it for this week.  I wish you all a great week.  I am praying for all those in Oklahoma that they are safe thru all the tornados going on right now.

Nice flimsies! I especially love the look of the cheddar bow ties.
Your Rainbow Jane is stunning! Almost halfway there--how exciting!
But I am really sad that you don't like your traditional Jane. Is it really beyond saving? How much of it did you have made? Could you assemble what you have into a lap quilt? Sorry if I am too nosy. I just hate to think of your efforts being for naught. : )

gorgeous tops!! Love the dear Jane in the brights too. Sad that your other blocks aren't going to be used but if they don't work, they don't work.

Well done on TWO flimsy finishes!! Both are quite different and I think they are both great!! I love the start of your DJ too - Iam planning a rainbow one as well...need to get a few other things out of the way first though!

Your flimsier are great Yvette. Poor Jane. I know the feeling. I like the ones I made , I just need to take time to make more. Even though I can paper piece some now, some of those take way too long to make. I may just make a small wallhanging. Lol

Love both flimsies. Looks like you had a great week. It just isn't fun doing a quilt when you don't like all of the blocks. Maybe you will fall back in to like with it again later.

The cheddar bow tie flimsy is wonderful, wonderful! So scrappy good.

Oh, I hope you hold onto those Dear Jane blocks you don't like. You may change your mind later on. They may come in handy some day.

Two done....that's great! Love, love, love the cheddar bowties. Now another quilt to put on my list! Getting ready to put the border on my mystery quilt. I really like the way it turned out. Did you sign up for the next one? I think the Fig Tree fabrics are really pretty considering I am a repro kind of girl!
