These are this months "Sylvia's Bridal Sampler" blocks I was scheduled to do. The upper left one was done by hand during the week. Y-seams galore. UGH! These were NOT fun this month. I am so glad they are done.
This is the last "Farmer's Wife" block I had to do this month.
I am still working on the Applique on the center medallion for "Vintage Valentine". There are a bazillion pieces but I think I am down to the last twenty or so.

I started cutting the fabrics for "Cracked Pots" today. I started with the 15 light fat quarters. I don't know how I did it but I am so short of fabric. I must have read the directions wrong. I am short 34 - 1 1/2 x 21" strips. HUH??? I went step by step. These weren't the easiest cutting instructions I have ever had. I still don't know what I did wrong but I will have to go back in my CW crate and pull out a few more fat quarters to make up for it. I still have to cut out the red's and the blue's. I do not look forward to it but will be glad when it is over. It's a good thing I have plenty of CW fabrics and more on the way.
Have a great week! I hope all of you have time to sew and plenty of fabric.

Love your blocks. I am sewing the Vintage Valentine as well. I have had it for a couple years now and I think I am only on block 2. You are right about the millon little pieces.
Hugs

Lovely blocks! I really like the yellow and red together in the Farmer's Wife block.
sorry to hear you had such a disappointing sewing day but you blocks look gorgeous and the blue and yellow also, just think the fabric won't go out of fashion so buy buy buy
Wow, all awesome blocks!
Your SBS blocks are fanatstic, wow! Good luck with the ongoing Vintage Valentine :)
The SBS blocks are so pretty. Can't wait to see the applique' with all those pieces. I hate when I think I have enough fabric and then I don't. Have a great week!
So love your blocks!
Those blocks look fabulous!!! You had a good productive Sunday Sewing day!!!
I am curious to see what your "Cracked Pots" quilt will look like!

I love the fabrics in your Farmer's Wife block! Are you doing that as a bom?
Yeah for the "Y" seams....good job on all of the SBS blocks, they look hard!
I think you got way more done than I did...lol
All your blocks are wonderful Yvette!! Kudos on getting that difficult block hand pieced, it looks great!!
Crispy
Yvette, your blocks may not have been fun, but they are beautiful!!!
I can see why some of those SBQ blocks weren't much fun!! But they look so pretty so well worth the pain - maybe? Your FW block looks great too.
And what a bummer about the other pattern - do you think there was an error in the amount of yardage they called for?
Beautiful blocks!! Well worth the work!!
I hate when I misread directions!! That's a lot of strips!
I like the "pointy" blocks you made for the sampler quilt. Well done.
Your blocks are beautiful! I love those colors! :0)
Your Sylvia's are beautiful. Mine are in time-out while I regain some confidence with a few FW blocks! I'll catch up on those five asap!
Wishing you a week with EXTRA sewing time, and hope you find enough fabric for the Cracked Pots!!
OOOO, a couple of your bridal blocks do look very complicated. Paper pieced, which I am not fond of .
Love the colors for Sylvia's Briday Sampler. Are you picking the colors yourself or doing a BOM? Sylvia's is on my "quilts to do list."
Pam
The difficult blocks seem to be all the more beautiful! Well worth it in the end.
Your blocks are beautiful. I have been working on the Sylvia's Bridal Sampler (wish I knew about the block of the month club) in 30's fabrics. I put them aside, thank you for reminding me to get back to them.
Love your fabric choices!
Great blocks! I hate when I run out of something...I often wonder what I've done wrong. Yhe blue and tellow are my favorite!
Hello Yvette, I have enjoyed your blog and posts in regard to Civil War Chronicles and Farmers Wife....the background I used on Dear Jane was a tea stained fabric...Warm Regards, Lyn
Ugh. Cutting. That is my least favorite thing to do (I think I may even like basting more... but not by much!) :P Your blocks all look lovely. I look forward to seeing the big reveal of the VV center block!
