3 New Starts & 2 Finishes

I started 3 new BOM's. The first one is called "Civil War Chronicles". I am a sucker for 1800's quilts and this one really caught my eye. The first month only has one 16" block so it was fairly easy. I thought I was trying to get the directional fabrics right but a few got turned around. My seam ripper was on over drive so I just left it. These blocks are for a BOM I was supposed to start last year. This is month one of "Civil War Tribute".
The next four blocks are for "Farmer's Wife". Joy and I are going to try to get 5 of these 6" blocks done every month. I plan on doing them and putting them together as I go.

This block wasn't supposed to have the red fabric around the sides. I did this block over and over again and this was the best of the lot. Dreaded Y seams. ACK! The block somehow came out too small so I added the borders and called it done.
I also finished the last "Berry Picking Party" stitchery last night. Now to the piecing.
Here is "A Gardener's Journal" all finished. Lighting is terrible as usual.
Another finish was my "Life is Beautiful" quilt. I quilted around all the circles and called it done. I hope to get it washed next weekend
My goal is to finish 10 things on my 2011 list before I start anything else.

I wish everyone a fantastic week! Happy Quilting!

what great finishes! I am so envious that you have finished your lib, mine is still just a flimsy but I hope to quilt it this year.
I love your civil war blocks.

I still say you have cloned yourself and leave yourself at home all day to sew, while you go to work.

Not sure that made sense!

Your finishes are awesome; I love the LIB!!!! I'm raring to go on the Farmer's Wife - Ellen and I will tackle our five on Saturday! And pretty soon, you'll hear me wheezing as I catch up to you on the Sylvias!

I have no idea when I will fit CWT in.... or the other items in the UFO pile. But I'm having a ball!!

Have a great (and safe commutes) week!!

Oh, all the beautiful things Yvette. Everything looks wonderful!!! I can't believe how much you have finished. I better get my butt in gear so I can catch up on CWT and CWC. And about that block with the Y seams - that's one that I did over twice and finally paper pieced it. What a mess it was. Love your addition of the borders to get it to the correct size!!

Yvette,
Thanks for stopping by my blog...I of course had to come visit yours too.
You are doing the Berry Pickin too?
I am too!!! I have about 1/4 of the last block done so I have quite a bit of work ahead of me. Since finishing that quilt is on my 2011 UFO list I have to get back to it.
I love all your blocks!!!

Whew! you have been very busy. Some really great finishes. Love the "life" quilt. Well done.

Yvette...you really need to write a book about quilter's time management!
You get more done in a week than I do in a month or more!

Love all of the CW reproduction blocks and you did a great job with your GJ and LIB quilts! Beautiful!!!

I am so glad to know that you also found the three directional fabrics in the center block of the Civil War quilt to be pretty much impossible to put together without getting the stitch ripper into major overdrive! Working on the same BOM, I've seen that this is going to be one of those "Only God is perfect" type quilts :-)
Do you know of any other blogger working on the Civil War BOM? I'd love to compare notes!
