More LIB and Christmas gift bags

These are the final blocks for my "Life is Beautiful" quilt. Before I add the sashing and put them together I am going to make the 48 small circles that will be appliqued on the top. I spent any sewing time I had this weekend making grocery totes to place Christmas gifts in. Since our local markets are going to be charging 5 cents per bag soon I thought I would give everyone on my list a bag for their groceries. This also helps me in not having to wrap their gifts. LOL!
That's all I have this week. I really need to start making a dent in some of my WISP's. I am hoping to have a finish next week if I can get a binding sewn down.

Have a great week everyone!

The quilt blocks are made very similar to a Drunkard's Path block. Interesting.

The bags are an excellent idea! Your grocery store is going to start charging for bags? Wow! I guess that's one way to get people to go green.

The LIB quilt is going to look wonderful!

I LOVE the bags!! I keep meaning to make some of these, though I do have around 40 of the cheap ones you can purchase at the store. I like your home made ones MUCH better :)

What great gift bags, Yvette. I had no idea they were going to start charging for bags. Is that only in CA? Watch out, you may get hugs for the bags - because you'll be saving the recipients money.

Have you used your GO much?

Fun bags! A couple years ago, a friend made me some shopping bags as a gift. I use them all the time. Best gift ever! :)

I love how your life is beautiful blocks are coming along. I'm *still* waiting for the pattern to come in at the LQS.

Your idea for Christmas gift bags is great. Some of our stores here charge for bags already. It probably won't be long before the rest follow along.

Too funny. Now that I've completed NI blocks, my Dear Jane has popped out of hibernation as well.

I too have been making more bags and totes for shopping. Here in St. John's, Newfoundland we too are being charged for bags. And besides, using our own totes is less waste in the landfills! We all have to do our parts!

btw, your redwork runner is beautiful!
