Where did May go?????

I am amazed how fast the month flew by. I guess I missed another weekend post so I will make up for it now. I put together both Insane-ish tops. I still need to square them up and add borders. I am waiting to hear how many and how big Colleen wants her borders to be. I am going to do a zig-zag border on mine so I need to get going on paper piecing those. Here is February's WONKY handled "Tisket Tasket block. What would a basket of mine be without the wonky handle? LOL!
Here are March and April's blocks. Handles are a little better.
This is the last "Polka Dot Girls" block.................
Here is the Polka Dot girls put together. All that is missing are the borders.
Last but not least, my "life Is Beautiful" stitcheries. 8 of 32 done.
I have a new addition to my brood. Her name is Linda. Daisy and Mindy LOVE her and she loves them back. I need help on training a kitty. Of course she is potty trained, that was easy. I am talking about jumping on furniture I don't want her on and clawing things. I bought her a post and tree, the one in the picture was a loaner. So far she hasn't destroyed anything and the vet did clip her nails. Any help is appreciated. Also, if you are a kitty owner, did you declaw?
Back to work tomorrow. I hope everyone has a safe, happy, quilty and healthy week.

Your little kitty is adorable!!

PLEASE don't declaw your kitty.... I promise not to preach from my soapbox but here are a couple of helpful websites....

My daughter works at the Humane Society shelter, and all 3 of my kids and myself have rescued many kitties...

Thanks for listening

The NI quilt is beautiful! I can't wait to see it with the borders. I think the wonky handle makes the basket. The polka dot girls looks like a lot of work and it turn out so nice. Linda is too cute. I used to squirt my kittens with a water gun to make them be nice, it didn't hurt them and it was easier than chasing them.

Wow....such an exciting post!!! LOVE your NI quilt...it's sooo pretty! You are so close to being finished that you deserve a WooHoo!

The Polka Dot Girls top is lovely, lovely....how will you quilt it?

The Life is Beautiful stitcheries are amazing! Your stitching is perfect...I know because I enlarged and studied it :o) What kind/size of needle do you use and do you hoop?

Please don't declaw Linda...it really hurts them and it can sometimes change the kitties personality. We just worked with our kitty to claw only her scratching post and for the most part that what she goes to town on.
Oh and she's a real cutie-pie!

And here I thought you were insane all along - guess not - because all those blocks put together is simply beautiful.

Well, hold on - maybe you're still a "little" insane...LOL

Go to a pet store and see if they have "Sticky Paws" for purchase. It is a strong double sided tape, and my cat hates it. He would scratch the box springs under my head at around 3:30 every morning. He doesn't do that anymore. You can get either tape or sheets. It is worth piece of mind, and I appreciate that.

Your kitten is darling, but please don't de-claw her. If she gets outside, she will not be able to protect herself. Cats need to scratch or their claws will grow to long. You can buy some kitty scissors and just trim them a bit. If you get her used to it, she will be fine. Just push gently on the pad of her paw and the claw will come out. Love your quilts and stitcheries...my first time to your blog. Thanks for sharing!!

You get so much done! Love all the blocks and progress you are making on everything. Love your kitty. Don't declaw. It is very hard on them. It changed Miss Puss's personality totally. I declawed because a aquaintance had declawed her 3 cats and spoke highly of it. This was 9 years ago. They can be trained not to scratch. I also trim our kitten's nails. If you start trimming when they are young they are used to you handling their paws. She's been really good about not scratching so far.

okay I went and looked at the nearly insane quilts at the link you have posted, although they were interseting, none were as appealing to me as yours, there's just something about all those reds. Gorgeous!!!

Have popped over to your blog and what beautiful quilts you have made. We share a few in common-basket blocks and the Life is beautiful. Your insane-ish quilts are just divine.
Have a cat too, unfortunately have frayed couches too. I try to cover the parts she likes to scratch. She is 99% an indoor cat so we accept some scratching. I will check out some of the sites suggested in one of your comments.
thanks

Your blocks are beautiful.

I have a kitty and for the most part I would agree with not declawing but I have one nice piece of leather furniture I didn't want holes in so I had my kitties claws removed front and back. I am a very responsible kitty owner and she doesn't EVER go outside unless she is being transported via her box. I see I'm the odd person out here so this is why I choose to post Anonymous. My kitty is very well loved (in case someone thinks otherwise).

No kidding! Where did May go? How about June? Eeep! :) Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!!! The NI, the Polka Dot Girls, the baskets... you've been busy! I haven't seen those "Life is Beautiful" stitcheries before... they are wonderful!

If you find a good way to train a kitty, let me know. We have 4 and still haven't found a great solution... they just can't keep those claws off the furniture. Keeping scratching posts right in front of where they like to scratch helps though. (Of course, this means we have three posts surrounding our main couch...) :P

I love love love your red/white quilt. Is that Dear Jane blocks?? It's gorgeous in reds. My daughter has a cat and he was de-clawed while they were living with us, and I have been sorry ever since. I wouldn't do it again. And p.s., I received your blocks for Kandee. THANK YOU. The cream is just fine. I'm not that fussy.. it looked perfectly creamy to me. And for all the quilting you do, I can't believe you don't have a stash!! How do you function?
