End of a Long Weekend.

I have been bitten by the Schnibble bug. Thanks to Cindy, I finally decided to start a Schnibble project. I have been collecting the patterns and charm squares but just haven't had the time since I was a mission to finish my Nearly Insane blocks. Well, I finished my Insane blocks and decided to put them away and Schnibble. This was so quick and fun to make. The best part is that there is hardly any waste at all. I used every single charm square. I hope to get it pinned so I can practice my quilting skills on this soon.
After my Schnibble fest I decided to work on a UFO on my list. I put together block #1 of my Polka Dot Girls. I am using my 30's stash since I am on a fabric diet.
I also finished up another stitchery from this quilt, I think it is from block 6. I still have a few to go but they are all prepped and ready.
The next two are quick little BOM stitcheries from a local quilt shop. It is a Calendar BOM. These are Feb. & March. I started April and should finish this week. It is so nice to be caught up on something.

The next block is the Catalicious BOM. This is as close to having a cat as I can get. LOL

The next 5 blocks are the final blocks for my Nearly Insane-ish quilts. Now the chore of putting them together begins. I need to cut a bazillion sashing strips and sashing squares. Colleen and I have to decide how we want to lay out our blocks. I don't think we can do this for a few weeks so I will take a break from this and work on other UFO's.

Back to work tomorrow. We were able to take a nice long 5 day weekend. We used to get a week off at Easter but since the economy is in the toilet we need to work and try to get in all the patients that are on vacation.

I started a new blog, it will detail on how I plan on losing the 20 pounds I gained since I started sewing 4yrs ago. UGH!! Looks like less sewing and more workouts are in the horizon.

WooHooo....I'm excited that you've finished all of the blocks! They all look great and I can't wait to see them together.

Your embroidery is beautiful and makes me want to start a new project...hmmmm might have to do that.

Yvette nice to see your new projects. So your insane quilt is ready to put together??? I want to read your new blog too. I need to lose 20 pounds before my daughters wedding. Blogger is not sending me emails, would you know how to fix that??

Yvette, these are all wonderful, but I LOVE your schnibbles! The fabric is perfect, what line did you use?

20 lbs, that's all? I put on 30, and other than starving myself, I can't seem to make it go away! I attribute it more to menopause (I blame everything on it, LOL) than quilting... but it's still stuck to me!

Oh, your schnibbles quilt is so pretty. I bet that felt good to finish a top.
Oh and look at all your embroidery. I really like those red ones from your shop. Very cute.
You have been so busy.
Good luck with the weight loss. I am back to the Y after 3 months not going since my surgery. I don't always look forward to going but I always feel better when I do. I have cut out sugar too. That was a little tough but now I am good.

I just read via Nicole that your cousin owns a quilt shop in Oakdale. I've been there many times and it's only 10 minutes down the road from me. Wish I had a quilt store in the family!!! Love those schnibbles!

Holy cow. Once again, I am in awe of your productivity! Congratulations on finishing all those NI blocks-- woot!!! I've been sorely tempted by Schnibbles, but have managed to keep away so far... yours turned out so well-- LOVE it.

Ugh. Weight. That is an evil word for me at this moment. On the bright side, I am nine months pregnant-- so it's not all me. :P

The Schnibble project is a fun one! Love the fabric. And, using 30's fabric for the girls is a great idea. You have been very productive!

Okay, what is this Schnibble stuff, I'm going to go have to investigate. I love that quilt top!

May the Force Be With You (on the 20 pounds/blog)..... You can do it!

(We won't mention that I ought to be doing it too....)

I made that Schnibbles awhile back and used same fabrics. :-) I loved it and so did my son's girlfriend...she now owns it. You can see the quilting I did on mine a few post back....maybe two months ago? Anyway....spotted it here and thought "my quilt!" Have a great weekend!!
