More BOM fun!

Block 89 of Nearly Insane. 40 blocks done! 58 to go.
Dimity the Dreamer for "An Angel's Story" quilt
Harriet the Homebody from "An Angel's Story"
Above is June's "Home is Where the Heart is" BOM. I decided to NOT make these into a quilt. Karene ordered us some hangers and we are turning these into wall hangings. I am going to use scraps from my bins to make the backs and I can hopefully get them quilted soon. 6 down, 6 to go.

The above blocks are for a quilt called "An Applique Affair". Ever since I started reading Anne's blog I have wanted to make a quilt using wool. She gave a great tutorial so I thought I would give it a try. The block on the left is one of 25 that I need to make and the 2 blocks on the right are 2 of 20 that I have to make.

I better get to work! LOL!

Rainbow Jane

I finished June's blocks yesterday. June's 10 blocks were pretty straight forward and easy.
I have come to the conclusion that I have too many projects going at one time. I decided to trim the list and send a few on vacation to the UFO closet. I will not start ANYTHING new until a few UFO's get busted. That doesn't mean I won't plan on starting something ot collect fabric for it. LOL!

How I Avoided Y-Seams

All my friends know I have a HATE/HATE relationship with inset seams. The picture below is this weeks "Nearly Insane" block I was supposed to do. I tried 2 times, once by hand and once by machine, to get this block done. After 3hrs of mega frustration I threw all my attempts in the trash. I decided to re-draw the pattern. Below is the original pattern. Under that is the one I re-drew. Below that is my finished block. I think it turned out pretty great! No more Y seams for me on this quilt. From now on I will just do it my way.

More Stuff

h
I finished hand stitching these tonight so I thought I would post them before the weekend is over.

I hope you all have a great week!

Stuff

I forgot to post my June Calendar block I made last Sunday. It will be nice next year when I can just hang these up.

The next 5 blocks are from June's Rainbow Jane BOM. I have 2 more prepped but they need hand work before I can take their picture.

The one below is this weeks traditional Jane BOW. I keep threatening to send this on vacation but the OCD that I suffer from won't let me.

Of course I have my Nearly Insane BOW too. This one is block #39. I am really afraid to see what this weeks block is going to be. She said it was scary. :O

Nearly Insane Block 47

Another fairly easy Nearly Insane block. This one measures 6" and has 36 pieces.

I added the wide borders to the Wildflower Sampler that I posted about earlier. It does look very naked without all the applique so I guess I will do it. I will try to do one corner a month and see how that goes. ACK! I learned my lesson on pattern picking.

Dear Jane D-2 & E-5

I was home earlier than normal from work today so I decided to try to get done my weekly Dear Jane blocks. The block on top is D-2 Mouse in a Mirror. It was much easier to make than I thought it would be, thanks to Anina's directions.

The block on the bottom is E-5 Rising Sun. This one was pretty easy too.

The block below is one for my Nearly Insane quilt. This is the first block I ever hand pieced. I bought the book and DVD called "Quilted Diamonds" by Linda Franz. I thought I needed to learn to hand piece so I tried it on this block since it had inset seams. I was pleasantly surprised on how nice it came out. I will definately be doing more of this.
